Globacom's support for the nation's entertainment industry was hugely rewarded at the 12th edition of The Headies Awards, where the company won the Power Brand Support Award for its contribution to the development of the music industry in Nigeria.

At the 2018 edition of the awards held at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre, Lagos, Globacom, according to the organisers of the event, won the Power Brand Support Award because the company has been "relentless and unapologetic in its support for entertainment, as well as in leveraging on the music and entertainment industry to strike a mutually beneficial relationship through sponsorship, endorsement, VAS, tours, concerts, event partnerships, patronage and many other creative ways of opening the 'eyes' of many other corporate companies to join the party".

Receiving the award on behalf of Globacom, Mr. Sola Mogaji, Senior Manager, Events and Sponsorship, said that the award was a worthy recognition for the company for its immense contributions to Nigeria's entertainment industry.
Mogaji added that "this award is a great testimonial to our modest contributions to the growth of the nation’s entertainment industry and we are delighted that Nigerians who voted Globacom for this award are appreciative of our efforts at promoting, projecting and developing the music industry and entertainment generally in Nigeria".
"This award will encourage us to continue to do more to support the abundant talents that we have in Nigeria, and we are confident that with the right support and encouragement, Nigerian artistes can compete favourably with their counterparts across the world. The nation's entertainment industry can always count on Globacom for support at all times", he assured.
