Former Governor of Kano State and Senator representing
Kano Central Rabiu Kwankwaso has promised to change the narratives if
elected President at the 2019 elections.
Kwankwaso made this promise in Abuja on Wednesday during the official
declaration of his intention to contest for the Presidency under the
platform of the People’s Democratic Party“Come May 2019 the narrative of helplessness, buck-passing, division, poverty, insecurity, and hopeless must change to a confident and well-structured Nigeria,” Kwankwaso said.
“I do not have a prophetic power to predict the future but we certainly have in us the ability to create the future that we want."
Offering to unite Nigeria if given the chance, the presidential hopeful promised to relegate tribalism and favouritism.
“We will provide a leadership where everyone is free and equal; we will provide a leadership where people sees themselves as Nigerians first, and as Ibo, Yoruba, Ibibio, Fulani etc as second."
Promising Nigerians value-based leadership, he added: “As I stand before you, I offer you a value-based leadership anchored on our national ethics as outlined on chapter two of section 23 of our constitution."
